The condition of the insulation
A torn covering or friable insulation does not prove its composition. Report what is already visible, planned nearby work and installations in use. Do not scrape the surface, sweep debris or dismantle insulation to complete a quote request.

No. It gathers useful information and helps prepare the right intervention. Competent professionals must assess the material’s composition, condition and access arrangements. Do not treat the absence of an immediate reply as permission to handle the insulation.
Can I send a piece of insulation to speed up identification?
Do not detach or send suspect material on your own initiative. Send existing documents and photographs. An expert determines whether sampling is necessary and how it should be organised. A photograph explains the context; it cannot confirm composition.
