The cellar and installations
A cellar may remain essential for heating, water, meters or storage. Identify equipment reached through the affected area and shared passages. Preparation covers the identified material, proposed removal and installations whose use needs coordination with other professionals.

Specify whether the request concerns one pipe, several networks or the entire room. Mention the report and installations to keep running. Distinguish insulation removal, the heating engineer’s work and new insulation; do not handle the material to prepare your enquiry.

Before work starts
Have the documents checked against materials affected by the work. Location or a photograph cannot confirm asbestos. The method and required competence depend on the material and its condition and must be established before work.

Can only the insulation around one pipe be removed?
The request can concern one pipe, but its length alone does not define the job. Have the insulation identified and clarify affected adjacent parts, protection and putting the heating back into service. An insulation-removal quote does not automatically include replacing the pipes or installing new insulation.
Should I empty the entire cellar before your visit?
Do not tidy up in contact with suspect materials to prepare for the visit. Describe stored objects and available passages. The scope, objects to move and access conditions will be defined after assessment. Targeted asbestos removal does not automatically mean treating the entire cellar.
The cellar is shared by several homes. Who should I contact?
Notify the building manager or co-ownership representative and identify the area involved. Specify which homes the pipes serve and which access routes are shared. Coordinate removal with the heating contractor and information for occupants; an individual request does not automatically cover shared equipment.
